NEC Consultant Vacancy 2026
The recruitment includes six consultant positions in different sectors:
Agriculture & Allied Sector: 1 Post
Tourism: 1 Post
Health: 1 Post
Education: 1 Post
Industry and Logistics: 1 Post
Planning Sector: 1 Post
Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 25 Years
Maximum Age: 50 Years (as on 1 January of the advertisement year)
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST: 5 years
OBC: 3 years
Salary:
Selected candidates will receive the following remuneration:
Monthly Salary: ₹50,000
Annual Increment: ₹3,000 (subject to satisfactory performance)
Period of Engagement:
1. The appointment will be purely on a contractual basis.
2. Initial engagement will be for 1 year.
3. The contract may be extended based on performance and requirement.
4. Maximum of four extensions may be granted.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
1. Agriculture & Allied Sector:
• Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Science, Fisheries, or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years experience in agriculture or rural development projects.
2. Tourism:
• Degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Geography or related field.
• 3 to 5 years experience in tourism planning or destination development.
3. Health:
• Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Community Medicine, Nursing or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in health sector programme management or implementation.
4. Education:
• Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Planning, Social Sciences, Public Policy or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in education sector programmes or skill development initiatives.
5. Industry and Logistics:
• Degree or Master’s in Economics, Commerce, International Business, MBA or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in export promotion, trade facilitation, or market linkage.
6. Planning Sector:
• Master’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Public Policy or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in economic planning, development schemes, or policy analysis.
Selection Process:
The selection process will include:

3. Interview
Only shortlisted candidates will be informed about the date and time of the skill test and interview, which will be held at the NEC Secretariat in Shillong.
