Assam University, Silchar has released an official notification for the engagement of Guest Faculty members on a purely temporary basis in the Department of Business Administration. A total of 12 positions are available across various specializations. Interested and eligible candidates are invited to submit their applications via email and appear for a walk-in interview.

1st Post

Name of Post: Guest Faculty (IT/Systems)

No. of Posts: 01

Category: OBC

Salary: Rs. 1,500/- per lecture with a ceiling of Rs. 50,000/- per month

Eligibility Criteria:

(i) B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in a relevant branch.

(ii) First class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

2nd Post

Name of Post: Guest Faculty (English)

No. of Posts: 01

Category: EWS

Salary: Rs. 1,500/- per lecture with a ceiling of Rs. 50,000/- per month

Eligibility Criteria (Option B):

(i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject.

(ii) Must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar accredited tests like SLET/SET.

(iii) Candidates with a Ph.D. awarded in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET, provided specific conditions regarding regular mode, evaluation, and publications are met.

3rd Post

Name of Post: Guest Faculty (Any Specialization)

No. of Posts: 10 (04-UR, 03-OBC, 02-SC, 01-ST)

Salary: Rs. 1,500/- per lecture with a ceiling of Rs. 50,000/- per month

Eligibility Criteria (Option A):

(i) Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.

(ii) Master's Degree in Business Administration / PGDM / C.A. / ICWA / M.Com. with First Class or equivalent.

(iii) Minimum of two years of professional experience after acquiring the Master's degree.

Selection Procedure:

(i) The selection will be based strictly on performance during the walk-in interview.

(ii) Academic scores specified in UGC guidelines will be used only for short-listing candidates for the interview if necessary.

(iii) No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.

Documents Required:

(i) Duly filled prescribed application form.

(ii) Self-attested copies of all supporting documents (Educational qualifications, experience certificates, NET/SLET/SET/Ph.D. certificates).

(iii) Hard copies of the application and original documents must be brought to the walk-in interview.
