Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh, under the Government of Assam, has released an official notification inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for recruitment to contractual project-based positions under an ICMR-funded research project. The recruitment will be conducted through a Walk-in Interview scheduled on 02 February 2026.

This engagement is for the ICMR project entitled “Development and validation of a new tool to measure medication adherence for select NCDs in Indian population – an exploratory sequential mixed-method multicentre study”, which is being implemented by the Department of Community Medicine, Assam Medical College & Hospital, Dibrugarh.

Nature of Engagement:

1. The post is purely temporary and contractual.

2. The engagement is project-specific and co-terminus with the duration of the project.

3. The position may be terminated at any point of time without assigning any reason, depending on project requirements and decisions of the competent authority .


Educational Qualification and Essential Experience:

Candidates applying for the post of Project Technical Support-II must fulfill the following essential qualifications and experience criteria:

1. Graduate Degree in Statistics or Social Science,
OR

2. Graduate degree in Science with Diploma in MLT / DMLT,

3. Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant field .


Desirable Experience and Skills:

Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following desirable qualifications and experience:

1. Experience in conducting community-based health research

2. Prior working experience in ICMR-funded projects

3. Working knowledge of Bio-Statistics

4. Experience in statistical analysis using software such as SPSS / STATA / R

5. Good publication knowledge, including familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and publications in reputed journals .

Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years on the date of walk-in interview / written test


Salary:

Monthly Consolidated Pay: ₹20,000/-

House Rent Allowance (HRA): As admissible

Total Monthly Emoluments: ₹22,000/- (Fixed)

No other allowances will be admissible beyond the consolidated emoluments specified above .


Duration of Engagement:

1. The initial engagement will be up to 6 months.

2. The tenure may be extended as per norms, subject to:

 • Performance evaluation

 • Availability of project funds

 • Functional requirements

 • Approval of the Competent Authority

General Terms and Conditions:

1. All educational qualifications must be obtained from recognized Boards or Universities.

2. Experience will be counted only after completion of minimum essential qualification.

3. Experience from Government organizations is preferred; however, experience from reputed National or International organizations will also be considered.

4. Experience must be in the relevant field or area.

5. Community and caste certificates must be issued by authorized Government officers.

6. The number of advertised positions may vary depending on project needs.

7. Engagement is subject to availability of funds and approval of the Competent Authority.

8. The advertised emoluments are project-specific and may vary according to sanction of the funding agency.

9. Reserved category candidates must produce valid caste certificates; OBC candidates must submit non-creamy layer certificates.

10. Persons already working in regular time-scale Government service are not eligible to apply.

11. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

12. Submission of false or incorrect information will lead to disqualification at any stage.

13. Project staff are not permitted to register for Ph.D. due to time constraints.

14. Project staff may be posted at any project site anywhere in the country, as per research requirements.

15. Engagement in project positions does not confer any right for regular appointment, absorption, or continuation in ICMR or Government of India services.

16. Benefits such as PF, pension, LTC, medical reimbursement, staff quarters, etc., applicable to regular ICMR staff are not admissible.

17. The maximum tenure of engagement in ICMR projects, with or without breaks, shall be five years only.

18. ICMR reserves the right to cancel, modify, or terminate the engagement at any time without assigning reasons.

19. Leave shall be governed by ICMR policy for project human resource positions.

20. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.

21. The decision of the Competent Authority shall be final and binding .
