A total of 6,557 vacancies have been announced across various Railway Zones and Production Units in India.

Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational and technical qualifications on or before 29 July 2026. Those awaiting final examination results are not eligible to apply.
Technician Grade-I Signal: Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Instrumentation or B.Sc. in a relevant discipline, OR Diploma/Degree in Engineering in the prescribed branch as specified in the official notification.
Technician Grade-III: Matriculation/SSLC along with ITI in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT-recognized institutes or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) in the relevant trade. Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in place of ITI/CCAA unless specifically mentioned for a particular post.

Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026):
Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 to 33 years
Technician Grade-III: 18 to 30 years
Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories as per Government of India rules.
Application Fee:
(i) General/OBC/EWS: ₹500
• ₹400 will be refunded after appearing in CBT (after deducting bank charges).
(ii) SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Female/Transgender/Minority/EBC: ₹250
• Full fee will be refunded after appearing in CBT (after deducting bank charges).
The fee must be paid online through Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
Selection Process:
The selection process includes:
1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Document Verification (DV)
3. Medical Examination
There will be negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer in the CBT.
Medical Standard: Candidates must satisfy the prescribed medical standards according to the post. Medical categories include A3, B1, B2 and C1. Candidates who fail the required medical examination will not be considered for appointment to that post.
