Name of Post: Member of the Assam State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Non Judicial)
No. of Posts: 1 (Open category)
Scale of Pay: Pay scale of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/-, Grade Pay of Rs. 17,500/-, in Pay Band - 4, plus usual allowances as admissible.
Age Limit: Not less than 40 years of age as on 01/01/2025.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their graduation in regular mode from a UGC recognized institution. Bachelor's degrees completed through distance mode of learning will not be considered eligible.
Experience: A person of ability, integrity, and standing, and having special knowledge and professional experience of not less than 10 years in areas such as consumer affairs, law, public affairs, administration, economics, commerce, industry, finance, management, engineering, technology, public health or medicine.

Name of Post: Member of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission
No. of Posts: A total of 25 posts are available across various districts including Darrang, Dhemaji, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Lakhimpur, Karbi Anglong, Goalpara, Nalbari, Sivasagar, Morigaon, Dhubri, Tinsukia, Nagaon, Kokrajhar, Kamrup, Hailakandi, Sribhumi, Golaghat, Dima Hasao, and Cachar.
Scale of Pay: Pay scale of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/-, Grade Pay of Rs. 15,700/-, in Pay Band - 4, plus other admissible allowances.
Age Limit: Not less than 35 years of age as on 01/01/2025.
Eligibility Criteria (Common for both posts)

Selection Process
The selection process for both posts will comprise three parts:
(i) Paper-I (Objective type and OMR based): 100 Marks (2 Hrs Duration) covering General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Knowledge of Constitution and India, and Knowledge of various Consumers related Laws.
• Candidates must secure at least 50 marks to be eligible for Paper-II.
(ii) Paper-II (Descriptive type): 100 Marks (3 Hrs Duration) covering an Essay on relevant topics and a case study of a consumer case for testing analysis and drafting abilities.
(iii) Viva-Voce: Candidates securing a minimum of 50 percent marks in both Paper-I and Paper-II will be eligible to appear in the Viva Voce, subject to document verification.
The final selection will be on a merit basis, prepared from the total cumulative marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Viva Voce. The examination will be conducted centrally in Guwahati only.

(iii) Candidates must ensure their OTR profile is updated with all required certificates (age, caste, educational qualification).
(iv) Upload required documents (Date of Birth, Educational Qualifications, caste/category, etc.) in PDF format (File size \le 4 MB, legible, 200 dpi grayscale recommended).
(v) Upload a recent photograph (50 KB – 200 KB, not older than 3 months) and signature (50 KB – 200 KB).
(vi) Candidates may apply for more than one category of post but must apply separately for each.
(vii) For the post of Member of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, candidates may select any 3 district commissions of preference for posting.
(viii) No editing of the application will be allowed after final submission.
(ix) After final submission and payment, applicants must take a print-out of the Online Application Form for future reference.
For Government Employees: Must upload a certificate from the competent authority to prove regular employment. Candidates seeking pay protection/continuation in service must upload a 'NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC)'.
Small Family Norms: Candidates must submit a declaration regarding "The Small Family Norms" in Form - A at the time of applying.
