The Gauhati High Court at Guwahati (High Court of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh) has released official advertisements for the direct recruitment of various posts in its Principal Seat. Online applications are invited from eligible citizens of India having a valid Employment Exchange Number registered in the State of Assam. A total of 39 posts are to be filled across four different categories: Judicial Assistant, Computer Assistant, Chauffeur (Driver), and Multi Tasking Staff (MTS).

1st Post
Name of Post: Multi Tasking Staff (MTS)
No. of Posts: 26 (Twenty-Six).
Pay Scale: Rs. 12000/- to Rs. 52000/- (Pay Band: 2) with Grade Pay of Rs. 3900/- per month.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess the educational qualification of Class-VIII standard. Notably, those who have passed HSSLC (Higher Secondary) or above shall not be eligible to apply for this post.
Selection Process: The selection involves a Stage 1 Written Examination (70 Marks) and a Stage 2 Viva-Voce (Interview) (20 Marks). Candidates must secure at least 40% (8 out of 20) in the Assamese language segment (qualifying nature) and a minimum of 60% (12 out of 20) in the Viva-Voce to qualify.
2nd Post
Name of Post: Judicial Assistant
No. of Posts: 8 posts (4 clear, 4 anticipated).
Pay Scale: Rs. 14000/- to Rs. 70000/- (Pay Band: 2) with Grade Pay of Rs. 8700/-.
Educational Qualification: Must be a graduate from a recognized University. Must have working knowledge of Computer.
Selection Process: Stage I is a Written Examination (120 marks) with a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer. Qualified candidates (1:3 ratio) proceed to Stage II, which is an Interview/Viva-Voce (20 marks). A candidate must secure at least 60% (12 out of 20) in the Interview/Viva-Voce to be considered qualified.
3rd Post
Name of Post: Computer Assistant
No. of Posts: 2 posts.
Pay Scale: Rs. 14000/- to Rs. 70000/- (Pay Band: 2) with Grade Pay of Rs. 6200/-.
Educational Qualification: Must be a graduate from a recognized University. Must also possess a diploma/certificate in Computer Operation/Application of at least 6 months duration. This includes training in areas like data entry, DTP works, basic hardware maintenance, LAN setting, and Web-based applications.
Selection Process: The process consists of three stages: Stage I Written Examination (120 marks) with negative marking, Stage II Skill Test (30 marks), and Stage III Interview/Viva-Voce (20 marks). A minimum of 60% is required to qualify both the Skill Test (18 out of 30) and the Interview/Viva-Voce (12 out of 20).
4th Post
Name of Post: Chauffeur (Driver)
No. of Posts: 3 vacant posts.
Pay Scale: Rs. 14000/- to Rs. 70000/- (Pay Band: 2) with Grade Pay of Rs. 5200/-.
Educational Qualification: Minimum educational qualification of Class X (HSLC) standard from a recognized Board. Must possess a valid LMV driving license issued by a competent authority.
Selection Process: The process includes a Stage I Screening Test (50 marks), a Stage II Driving Test (40 marks), and a Stage III Interview/Viva-Voce (20 marks). Candidates must qualify the Assamese language segment in the Screening Test (5 out of 10) and secure at least 50% (20 out of 40) in the Driving Test and 60% (12 out of 20) in the Interview/Viva-Voce.
Age Limit (as of the last date of application):
The general maximum age limit is 40 years. Upper age limit relaxations are applicable for reserved categories:
• OBC/MOBC: 43 years
• SC/ST (P)/ST (H): 45 years
• PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability): 50 years

• For SC/ST(P)/ST(H): Rs. 250/-
• For PwBD candidates: Nil
• Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
