Note: The post of Safai Karmachari is exempted from the Assam SC/ST/OBC Reservation Act
Pay Scale: Rs. 12,000 – 52,000/- per month
Grade Pay: Rs. 3,900/-
Plus other allowances as admissible under Government rules.
Eligibility Criteria:
(a) Must be a Citizen of India and Permanent Resident of Assam.(b) Must be registered with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
(c) Must be able to speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.

Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 40 years
Age Relaxation:
SC / ST (P) / ST (H): 5 years
OBC / MOBC: 3 years
Educational Qualification
Minimum: Class VI passedMaximum: HSSLC (Class XII) passed
Additional Qualification (for marks):
Sector Skill Council (SSC) Training Certificate OR Minimum 1 year work experience certificate from registered NGO/Municipality/Government Department.

Female:
General/OBC/MOBC/SC – 150 cm
ST (P)/ST (H) – 147.5 cm
Chest (Male only):
(a) General/OBC/MOBC/SC/ST (P): 80 cm (normal) + 5 cm expansion
(b) ST (H): 77 cm (normal) + 5 cm expansion
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
Medical Standards:
(a) Applicant must be mentally and physically fit.(b) No major diseases like diabetes, heart disease, hernia, respiratory disease, etc.
(c) Vision: 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other (without correction).

• Minimum 33% marks required to qualify.
• Preference will be given to persons traditionally engaged in Safai work (up to 25% of marks).
