Assam University, Silchar has released an official advertisement for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a Ministry of Earth Science (MoES) sponsored project. Characteristics of hourly extreme rainfall in a complex terrain of Indian subcontinent and their Environments: Observation and modelling perspectives

Monthly Salary:
Rs. 37,000/- + HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates (as per rules)
Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for Non-NET/Non-GATE qualified candidates (as per rules)
Essential Qualification:
M.Sc./M.Tech in Physics or Atmospheric Science with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Desirable Qualification:
Experience in Atmospheric research including setting and running of mesoscale WRF Model.
Working knowledge of UNIX, Python, Shell Scripting, Fortran, GrADS, CDO, NCL, R.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years as on the date of advertisement.
Tenure of Assignment:
For the project period of 3 years, based on performance and availability of funds.
Terms and Conditions:
No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview. The appointment will be purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Merely fulfilling minimum qualifications does not guarantee selection.
