The State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Assam has released an official admission notification for the Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2026 for admission into the 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course for the academic session 2026–2028. Eligible permanent residents of Assam can apply online through the official website.

Institutes: DIET / CTE / Normal School / BITE / BTC / Private Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs)
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (HS) [10+2] from a recognized Board/Council with at least:
50% marks in aggregate excluding optional/extra/fourth subject marks.
Relaxation: Candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H) categories will get 5% relaxation in marks.
Age Limit:
As on 1st July 2026:
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 34 years
Age Relaxation: SC/ST(P)/ST(H) candidates will get 2 years relaxation in upper age limit.
Application Fee:
Rs. 600/- for all categories.

PET 2026 Exam Venue:
• The PET examination venue will be allotted in the district selected by the candidate during online application.
• The selected candidates will be allotted seats in Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) of the same district where they appeared in PET 2026.
