The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has released an official employment notification for the recruitment of Junior Technician (Trainee) posts in the Central Workshop. A total of 06 vacancies will be filled on a purely temporary contractual basis. Interested and eligible candidates who possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade can apply online before the last date.

Salary: Rs. 25,000/- per month (Consolidated stipend)
Contract Duration:
(i) Initial appointment will be for 11 months.
(ii) The contract may be extended for two additional terms of 11 months each based on satisfactory performance and the Institute's requirements.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess:
(i) ITI Certificate in Turner, Machinist, Fitter, or Welder trade from an NCVT/SCVT recognized Institute.
(ii) Minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
(iii) Candidates possessing Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech qualifications are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit: The maximum age of the candidate should be 28 years as on the last date of submission of the online application.
Eligibility Criteria:
(i) The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
(ii) ITI certificate must be issued by an NCVT/SCVT recognized institution.
(iii) Candidates working in Government Departments or PSUs must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer during certificate verification or submit an undertaking.
