Tezpur University, a Central University established by an Act of Parliament, has released an official recruitment notification for the engagement of Field Assistant under a MoEF&CC-sponsored research project titled "Reassessment, Revival, and Recognition of Bio-Resources, Handlooms, and Handicrafts of Indigenous Tribes of Manipur for Sustainable Livelihood". The project is being conducted under the Principal Investigator Prof. Kh. Ashalata Devi, Department of Environmental Science.

Salary: ₹20,000/- per month (Fixed)
Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess B.Sc. or Diploma in a relevant discipline of Biological Sciences or Applied Sciences.
Desirable Qualifications:
(i) Experience in community-based fieldwork.
(ii) Knowledge of local languages and cultures.
(iii) Ability to conduct extensive field surveys.
(iv) Experience working in ethnic forest villages of Manipur.
(v) Experience in collection, storage, processing and preservation of craft specimens.
(vi) Basic computer skills such as MS Office, data compilation, file handling and office management will be preferred.
Maximum Age: 28 years as on the date of interview.
Duration of Appointment: The appointment will initially be for 1 year or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Based on satisfactory performance, it may be extended up to the completion of the project. The maximum engagement period is 3 years.
Preference: Preference will be given to candidates from Manipur who have knowledge of indigenous communities, traditional handlooms, handicrafts and bioresource utilization.

(i) Selection will be through a Walk-in Interview conducted in Hybrid Mode (Offline/Online) on 18 August 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Department of Environmental Science, Tezpur University.
