Bank of Baroda (BOB) has released an official recruitment notification for the appointment of Local Bank Officers (LBO) on a regular basis. Through this recruitment drive, the bank is inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for 2,482 vacancies in various states across India.
The online application process has started on 18 August 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications online up to 7 September 2026. The post is in JMG/S-I (Scale-I) and requires candidates to have a graduation degree along with at least one year of relevant officer-level banking experience.

Therefore, candidates applying for Assam must have proficiency in Assamese or Bodo as applicable and must apply specifically against the Assam state vacancies.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University/Institution. The qualification must be from an institution recognised by the Government of India or the relevant regulatory bodies.
Preferred Certifications:
The following certifications are mentioned as preferred qualifications:
(i) IC 38 from Insurance Institute of India
(ii) NISM Series V-A: Mutual Fund Distributors Certification Examination
(iii) NISM Series XXI-A: Portfolio Management Services (PMS) Distributors Certification Examination
(iv) NISM Series XIII: Common Derivatives Certification Examination
These are preferred certifications, while graduation is the mandatory educational qualification.
Work Experience:
(i) Applicants must have at least 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.
(ii) Experience in the Clerical cadre will not be considered for determining eligibility. The bank will also verify whether the candidate's job profile substantially matches the responsibilities of a Scale-I officer.
Age Limit:
The age of the candidate should be:
Minimum: 21 years
Maximum: 30 years
The cut-off date for determining eligibility is 1 August 2026.
Applicable age relaxation for reserved and other eligible categories will be provided according to Government of India rules and the conditions specified in the recruitment notification.
Salary:
The Local Bank Officer post is placed in JMG/S-I.
The basic pay scale is: Rs. 48,480 – 2,000/7 – 62,480 – 2,340/7 – 67,160 – 2,680/7 – 85,920
In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will be eligible for applicable allowances, benefits, perquisites and other facilities according to the bank's policies and applicable banking-sector settlements.
Candidates with one year or more of experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank may receive one advance increment, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
