The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Dispur, Guwahati has released an official recruitment advertisement for the engagement of candidates to Hindi Reporter, Hindi Translator, Bengali Translator and Karbi Translator posts.
A total of 5 vacancies are available under this recruitment. The appointments will be made on a purely temporary contractual basis, initially for a period of six months, with the possibility of extension depending on the necessity of work.

Salary: ₹35,000/- per month
Eligibility:
(i) Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
(ii) Diploma in Hindi Stenography with a qualifying speed of 80 words per minute.
(iii) DTP Typewriting (Hindi) from a recognized institution.
(iv) 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
(v) Sound knowledge of Assamese and English languages.
(vi) Candidates having knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning will be given preference.
2nd Post
Name of Post: Hindi Translator
Total Posts: 01
Salary: ₹25,000/- per month
Eligibility:
(i) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized University, with Hindi as one of the subjects.
(ii) Sound knowledge of Assamese and English literature.
(iii) 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
(iv) Knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning or reporting in Hindi newspapers will be preferred.
3rd Post
Name of Post: Bengali Translator
Total Posts: 01
Salary: ₹25,000/- per month
Eligibility:
(i) Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University, with Bengali as one of the subjects.
(ii) Sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Bengali literature.
(iii) 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
(iv) Knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning or reporting in Bengali newspapers will be preferred.
4th Post
Name of Post: Karbi Translator
Total Posts: 01
Salary: ₹25,000/- per month
Eligibility:
(i) Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
(ii) Sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Karbi language/literature.
(iii) 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
(iv) Knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning or reporting in Karbi newspapers will be preferred.
Age Limit:
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and not more than 40 years old as on 01 January 2026.
The upper age limit is relaxable as follows:
SC/ST: 5 years
OBC/MOBC: 3 years
The age will be calculated on the basis of the School/Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card or Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council/School or other applicable Government document.
Employment Terms:
(i) The recruitment is purely temporary and contractual. The contractual appointment may be terminated at any time without assigning any reason.
(ii) The initial appointment will be for six months and may be extended for a further period depending on the necessity of the work.
(iii) No TA/DA will be admissible to candidates appearing for the Test/Interview. The Assembly Secretariat also reserves the right to forfeit the candidature of any candidate without assigning any reason.
