Must be a graduate in Arts/Science/Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College/Institution affiliated to a recognized University.

Age (as on 01-01-2026):
  • Sub Inspector (UB): 20-26 years.
  • Assistant Jailor: 21-40 years.

Name of Post: Sub Inspector of Police (Communication) in APRO

Salary (Pay Band): Rs. 14000/- to 70000/-

Grade Pay: Rs. 8700/-

Eligibility Criteria (Educational - Must possess one of the following):
• B.Sc. (Electronics Science/IT/Computer Science) (10+2+3 duration).                                                    OR

• 3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent with 2 years work experience in the field of Electronics, Telecom, IT or allied environment.

OR
• 3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent and 2 years additional course/courses in Telecommunication /IT /Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or equivalent.
OR
• Master of Computer Application (MCA).
OR
• B.E./B. Tec. in E & TC or Computer or Instrumentation or IT or equivalent qualification in same discipline.

Age (as on 01-01-2026): 20-26 years.

Age Relaxation (Upper Age Limit):
• SC, ST (P) and ST (H): 5 years.
• OBC/MOBC: 3 years.
• Ex-Servicemen (Only for Assistant Jailor): 2 years.

Documents Required (Mandatory Uploads):

• Latest passport size photograph (Max 450 KB, JPEG, JPG, PNG format only).

• Digital photo of Signature (black or dark blue ink on a white paper, Max 100 KB, JPEG, JPG, PNG format only).

• Certificate for proof of age (Admit Card/Certificate of H.S.L.C. or equivalent examination).

• Pass Certificate & Mark sheet of required educational qualification for the posts concerned.

• Employment Exchange Registration Card.

• Aadhaar Card.

• Caste Certificate, if applicable (acceptable only from the Competent Authority authorized by the Govt. of Assam).

Selection Procedure:
The recruitment involves multiple stages:
• Written Test.
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination followed by Physical Standard Test (PST).
• Oral/Viva-Voce.

Final Merit List Components:
• Written Test: 100 marks.
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET): 40 marks.
• NCC: 5 marks.
• Oral/Viva Voce: 5 marks.
• Total: 150 marks.
Weightage on NCC:
• NCC 'C' Certificate: 5 marks.
• NCC 'B' Certificate: 3 marks.
• NCC 'A' Certificate: 2 marks.
