The Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Sivasagar, Assam has released an official recruitment advertisement inviting applications from eligible and intending candidates for filling up three (03) vacant posts of Peon in the establishment of the District Judiciary, Sivasagar.
This recruitment is being conducted as per the prevailing rules and regulations of the Government of Assam. The posts carry regular pay structure along with other allowances admissible under the rules. The number of vacancies mentioned in the advertisement is indicative only and may increase or decrease at the time of final selection, depending on administrative requirements.

Name of the Post: Peon
Total Vacancies: 03 (Three)
Pay Band: ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 per month
Grade Pay: ₹3,900/-
Other Allowances: As admissible under the rules of the Government of Assam from time to time
Category-wise Reservation:
The vacancies are distributed among the following categories as per reservation rules:
Unreserved (UR)
OBC / MOBC
SC
ST (P) / ST (H)
PwBD (as per Government of Assam norms)
Candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC category must produce a valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued by a competent authority at the time of document verification before the interview/viva-voce without fail.
Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will be applicable as per existing relevant rules notified by the Government of Assam.
Age Limit:
The maximum age limit varies according to category:
Unreserved: Up to 40 years
OBC / MOBC: Up to 43 years
SC: Up to 45 years
ST (P) / ST (H): Up to 45 years
Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of Assam rules wherever applicable.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates applying for the post of Peon must fulfill the following educational criteria:
1. The minimum educational qualification required is Class VIII passed
2. Candidates who have passed HSSLC (Class XII) or above are not eligible to apply for this post
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the post, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
1. The candidate must be an Indian citizen as defined under Article 5 and 6 of the Constitution of India.
2. Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification on the date of application.
3. All information furnished by the candidate must be true and correct.
If any candidate is found to have suppressed educational qualifications or provided false or incorrect information, their candidature shall be rejected outright, even if detected at a later stage.
Nature of Work and Duties:
Candidates selected as Peon will be required to perform the following duties:
1. Assisting the concerned officers and staff in carrying out their official duties
2. Maintaining cleanliness of the office premises
3. Bringing refreshments, tea, water, etc. as required
4. Delivering official documents, files, and letters
5. Carrying out orders and instructions issued by superior authorities
6. Performing any other duty assigned from time to time in the interest of office administration
